Chief Minister demanded immediate relief

Dehradun:(Page3 News Network)-State Government has demanded immediate relief assistance of Rs. 272.88 crore as per the norms for the natural calamity that hit Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag districts during Monsoon. The State Government has also sought Rs. 385.24 crore under Special Central Assistance.
Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, in a letter written to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has stated that the loss of Rs. 657 crore has been estimated against the loss occurred during the calamities at Uttarkashi and Rudraprayg. He said that Rs. 272.88 crore was in tune to the norms of Central Relief Fund (CRF) and National Calamity Contingency Fund (NCCF), while, remaining 385.24 crore ought to be provided under Special Central Assistance. He said that the Central Team too had visited the affected areas, while, Prime Minister had announced Rs. 500 crore.
Chief Minister Bahuguna has urged the Home Minister to reconsider the disaster relief standards of CRF and NCCF. He said that Special State like Uttarakhand was not in position to spend such a big amount under its Non-Plan outlay. Hence Centre ought to provide financial assistance for compensation of loss occurred during the calamities.
