New Delhi:(Page3 News Network)-The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a Scheme in 2012, called the “Free Education for Sports Medal Winners/Participants of National/ International events”. The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to these medal winners/eminent sports persons who are studying in Universities/Colleges leading to full time regular courses, including Post Graduate Diploma and other professional courses, and to motivate them to achieve higher levels of performance in higher education as well as in sports.
