Spot inspection of land proposed for construction of new Vidhan Sabha Bhawan

Dehradun:(Page3 News Network)-Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, after the Cabinet meeting, conducted on the spot inspection of land proposed for construction of new Vidhan Sabha Bhawan at Raipur on Thursday, along with Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal and Deputy Assembly Speaker Dr. Anusuiya Prasad Maikhuri.
 Mr. Kunjwal said that Raipur area was fit for Vidhan Sabha Bhawan and mutual consent would be obtained from other parties also in the issue. He said that the final decision would be taken very soon.
 Chief Minister Bahuguna observed that new building for Vidhan Sabha was required in Dehradun as the present one had limited space and there was difficulty in its extension. Moreover, he said that the present location of Vidhan Sabha posed inconvenience for general public during Assembly sessions. He said that Raipur area was appropriate for new Vidhan Sabha Bhawan as there was sufficient space. Mr. Bahuguna said that decision of Assembly Speaker would be the final. He said that consent of other party Members would also be taken. There would be no dearth of fund for construction of new building and the work would be completed in 2 years. He said after construction of Assembly buildings in Dehradun and Gairsen, Assembly Sessions would be conducted in both the places.
 During the inspection, Principal Secretary Revenue Omprakash said that the selected area was under State Government and 160 acres land was available in Revenue record.
 Also present on the occasion were Cabinet Ministers Dr. Indira Hridayesh, Pritam Singh, Mantri Prasad Naithani, Dinesh Agarwal, Preetam Singh Panwar, Harish Chandra Durgapal, Surendra Rakesh, MLAs Rajkumar and Umesh Sharma, Additional Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, District Magistrate Dr. BVRC Purushottam and other senior officers.
