New NCVT Procedure for Affiliation


Delhi:The Ministry of Labour & Employment has changed the procedure for affiliation with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) for the parties desirous of setting up Government and Private Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). The changes are effective from the 1st of this month.

                According to a  Press Note issued today by the Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET) under the Ministry of Labour & Employment,  now   accreditation with Quality Council of India (QCI) has been made a pre-condition for affiliation with NCVT. All applications along with relevant documents for affiliation of trades by Government and Private it is are required to be submitted online to QCI w.e.f. 1st September, 2012. The details of accreditation criteria based on NCVT norms are available on web-site of QCI at "http://www.qcin.org/nabet/GPITI".
Based on application and relevant documents, QCI will counsel and guide the promoters to ensure that the required infrastructure infrastructure is in place. Their team will then visit the institute for verification of infrastructure in consultation with the promoters and submit their report to DGE&T only when all the accreditation norms have been fulfilled. The promoters are required to pay requisite fee online to QCI.
