Biometric standards committee


On 29th September 2009, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) constituted a Biometric standards committee under the chairmanship of Dr. B.K. Gairola, Director General, National Informatics centre with the objective of framing biometrics standards for the use by the UIDAI and its partners. The committee submitted its report on 30th December, 2009. The report is available at http://uidai.gov.in/UID_PDF/Committees/Biometrics_Standards_Committee_report.pdf. A total expenditure of Rs 66000 (approx) was incurred in holding various meetings of the committee.
This information was given by Shri Rajiv Shukla, the Minister of state for Parliamentary affairs and Planning, in written reply to a question in the Loksabha today.
