On 29th September
2009, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) constituted a
Biometric standards committee under the chairmanship of Dr. B.K. Gairola, Director General, National
Informatics centre with the objective of framing biometrics standards for the
use by the UIDAI and its partners. The committee submitted its report on 30th

A total expenditure of Rs 66000 (approx) was incurred in holding various
meetings of the committee.
