National Conference on Effective Implementation of the Protection of
Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 was held on 21st January, 2013.
The Conference debated and engaged with several important conceptual and
empirical issues on violence against women and deliberated on
strategies for making the law an effective tool of change. Andhra
Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka,
Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andaman & Nicobar, Haryana and Delhi
States have participated in the above Conference. The outcome of the
Conference is that the best practices manual and resource tool for
monitoring and evolution of PWDVA Act was released and discussed.
