National Archives of India has organized a Display of Facsimile Copies
of Oriented Records available in its holdings for public viewing. The
display was inaugurated here today by Prof. Syed Shahid Mahdi, Member,
ICCR.
The display highlights some of the extremely rare and valuable series of oriental records like Inayat Jung Collection (comprising 1,37,777 documents), Fort William College Collection Manuscripts, Tarikh-i-Alfi, Razmnama- Mahabharat (in Persian), Aaina-i-Sikhandar, Foreign- Persian documents (approximately 44,000 documents) among others.
This display is a continuation of the close and cordial co-operation between the National Archives of India and Iran Culture Centre who have not only digitize the series of oriental records but also prepared facsimile of the selected documents. The Centre has also translated and prepared catalogues of the reference media of Persian Manuscripts of Fort William College Collection and Collection of Acquired Manuscripts for the benefit of scholars.
The display will remain open till 17 May 2013 for public viewing in the Annexe building of the National Archives of India, New Delhi.
