
Earlier, the Indian High Commission in Singapore said, the plane carrying the girl landed at the Changi International Airport at 5 AM IST. The decision to shift the girl was taken at the highest level of the Indian government. On December 16, the girl was gang-raped and brutally assaulted in a moving bus and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi. The girl, battling for life for the past 10 days at Safdarjung hospital in New Delhi, remained on ventilator support during most part of her treatment in Delhi.
Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said the condition of the Delhi gang rape victim is reported to be stable at Mount Elizabeth hospital in Singapore. India's High Commission in Singapore said, it is providing all possible assistance to the victim’s family. MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said, the High Commission has been receiving numerous queries and offers of help for the girl. He said, all messages about her can be sent to the High Commission’s email address: admin@hcisingapore.org.
In a statement, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today said, no effort will be spared for treatment of the Delhi gangrape victim. Mr Shinde stated that the government will meet all costs of her treatment. The Home Minister said, the Centre was advised by a team of doctors to shift the girl abroad for treatment.
