Home Secretary RK Singh said on Sunday that such a statement is ridiculous as Jundal was working with Lashkar e Taiba at Pakistani soil when the Mumbai terror attack was carried out.
Delivering a lecture at Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi on Saturday, Malik had claimed that Jundal was an agent of Indian intelligence agencies.
On Malik's remark that Indian agencies could have prevented the carnage, the Home Ministry said, the main issue is that the Mumbai attack was conceived and planned and directed from the Pakistani soil.
In a statement, the Home Ministry said, Pakistan did not take any action against these terrorist elements when the plan was being conceived and put into effect.
It said, even after the Mumbai terror attack, when full facts are known to the world, Pakistan is hesitating to take action against key conspirators and key operatives.
