Chief minister
Vijay Bahuguna said today that employees had a great role in the development of
the state and the government was sensitive to their needs and welfare .
He was speaking as the chief
guest at the seventh convention of the state employees’ joint council at the
Town Hall.
He said the government was keen to fulfill the
demands of the ‘karamcharis” while
keeping in view the limited resources of the
state.
The chief minister said that the
government did not want that the morale of the employees should go down as that
would adversely affect the development of the state .
He said employees should realize
that their responsibility, along with the responsibility of bureaucrats, was
immense.
CM said that the
budget of the state was Rs.25,000 Crore out of which 68 per cent was being
spent on non plan expenses. He said the
government was trying to increase the sources of revenue. He said that in the context of the eco
sensitive zone being declared, the government would ask for Green Bonus from
the Planning Commission on May 23.
MLA Raj Kumar also addressed the
convention. State president of the council Dr.Prahlad Singh welcomed the guests
.General Secretary Pradeep Kohli handed over a memorandum of demands to the CM.
