PDF of Rs.2 Crore created Uttarakhand Lodge to be built in Mumbai

An Uttarakhand Lodge cum Emporium will be constructed at Navi Mumbai in PPP mode.

     Also, a potable water cluster scheme will be set up in Mehuwala in Dehradun.A Project Development Fund of Rs.2 Crore has been created for these two projects. This was decided at a meeting held on wednesday at the secretariat ,presided over by Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar.

   The PPP cell will operate the PDF and the chairman  of the PDF will be the Chief Secretary. Any department access money from this fund  to complete initial formalities  of any new project .This money will have to be returned  once the project takes off The PDF corpus will be increased later.

     Uttarakhand government got 4000 sq.km land in Vasi in Navi Mumbai on lease but the lease was cancelled by the Maharashtra government as clearance from the  Coastal Region Authority took a lot of time to pass the map. Now, the lease has been renewed and construction has to be done within two years.

     The PPP cell of Uttarakhand is going to issue an RFP (request for proposal) for this, also appointing a transaction officer.

    A water scheme PPP mode  for 79 settlements in Mehuwala will also be set up through which 60,000 people will get water through 18000 connections.An RFP has been issued.

   Present at the meeting were Principal Secretary (finance) Rakesh Sharma, PS (Planning) S.Ramaswamy and RSA V.S.Pandey.
