On the directions of Chief Secretary Subhash
Kumar , transformers of various capacities have been made available at power
sub-stations of hill districts.
The CS Monday took information from DMs
of hill districts regarding this. According to the information provided by them
,in Nainital- Garam Pani had 6
transformers, Bhowali has one ,Bhimtal 7, Sukhatal 2 ,Almora 7, Mansi 13 ,Salt
7 ,Dwarahat 7 ,Bageshwar 7 ,Kapkot 7, in Tehri-Ghansali has 7, jakhnidhar has
7,New Tehri 7, Chamba 7;in Pauri –satpuli has 7, Syunsi has 7, Chamoli 7
,gairsain 7, Karnaprayag 7,Joshimath 7 ,Pithoragarh 7 ,Dharchula 7,Uttarakshi
(bhatwadi has 6, Lawadi 6 ,Chiniyalisain 7,Sarukhet 7, Purola 7 and Mori 7
transformers. In Champawat, Tanakpur has 7, Champawat 7 and Lohaghat 7.
It may be recalled that on May 12, the Chief
Secretary had visited Hindolakhal in
Tehri to review the development works on the spot, when he received complaints
that if a transformer was burnt down or faulty, it took very long for it to be
replaced.
Coming back to Secretariat at Defraud, CS
called the officers concerned. He was apprised that there was an arrangement of
storing transformers at one place for 2-3 districts. Taking the grave concern
he directed officials that all 33 KVA substations should have transformers of
various capacities available readily. He also ensured that if transportation of
transformers are done by the villagers to avoid delay, UPCL should reimburse
the cost of transportation to the villagers.
